The sexiest outfit I own isn't sexy at all

Why the least glamorous outfit in the wardrobe can feel the most beautiful.

Couple relaxing at home in Silverdale, wearing casual Pacific State University loungewear in a bright, modern California coastal living room that reflects everyday comfort and community.

Hi, loves!

Can we all agree that there’s a magical moment every weekend when the jeans come off?

Not in a dramatic movie kind of way.

More like… finally.

My push-up bra lasts exactly as long as it takes me to get through the front door. My heels don’t even make it to the bedroom before I’m already kicking them off somewhere in the hallway.

Five minutes later?

I’m wearing my boyfriend’s old Buffaloes boxer shorts, an oversized grey hoodie that definitely isn’t flattering, fluffy socks that have seen better days, and my hair has officially given up on being a hairstyle.

And honestly…

I’ve never felt prettier.

People always assume girls who love dressing up spend every evening looking like they stepped out of a fashion campaign. Trust me, we don’t. Looking fabulous is fun. Looking comfortable is a luxury.

Last Friday was exactly that.

No club.

No makeup.

No carefully planned outfit.

Just me, my boyfriend, an embarrassing amount of popcorn, a blanket big enough to disappear under and three episodes of a detective series where we both kept confidently accusing the wrong person.

At one point he looked at me, laughed and said, “You’re wearing my shorts again.”

I looked down.

“I believe they’re our shorts now.”

Relationship law.

He sighed the sigh of a man who already knew he’d lost that argument months ago.

Here’s the funny thing.

The girl who spent an hour choosing earrings before going out is exactly the same girl who will happily spend a Saturday night looking like a sleepy university student who accidentally wandered into someone else’s apartment.

Maybe that’s confidence too.

Knowing when it’s fun to dress up.

Knowing when it’s even better not to bother.

So yes, I still love a silk blouse, good heels and a lipstick that survives dinner.

But don’t underestimate the power of borrowed boxers, an oversized hoodie and someone who doesn’t care what you’re wearing as long as you steal the blanket a little less than last week.

…Which, for the record, I absolutely did not do.

Probably.
