Let’s get one thing out of the way: yes, I know I’m pretty.

You don’t have to pretend not to notice, and I don’t have to pretend I haven’t noticed either. Life is much easier when we skip the fake modesty.

Now… does being pretty open doors?

Absolutely.

But not in the way people think.

Every time I say my little motto — Cleavage opens doors! — someone imagines I’m talking about showing as much skin as possible. Girls… no. If that actually worked, every nightclub would be run by bikini models.

The secret isn’t revealing more.

It’s revealing that you made an effort.

When I go out, I pick one thing to stand out. Maybe it’s a silk blouse. Maybe it’s the jeans that fit just right. Maybe it’s a lipstick shade that makes me feel expensive even if it cost twelve dollars. The point isn’t to impress everyone. The point is to walk into a room already feeling like you belong there.

People notice confidence long before they notice your outfit.

And confidence is surprisingly contagious.

The bouncer smiles because you smile first. The bartender remembers you because you thank him instead of snapping your fingers. The photographer somehow finds your table three times in one evening. Coincidence? Maybe. I just know it keeps happening.

Do I get free drinks more often than some of my friends?

Probably.

Do I complain about that?

Absolutely not.

But here’s something I’ve learned: looking beautiful might get someone’s attention for five seconds. Being genuinely fun to have around is what gets you invited back next weekend.

So yes, my motto still stands.

Cleavage opens doors.

Good manners, confidence and a killer outfit are what keep them open.

Wear what makes you feel good, absolutely. I do not love the idea that getting served first is proof an outfit “works,” though. Attention and good service are not the same thing.

The practical part for me is choosing something I can actually dance in for three hours. Confidence disappears quickly when I spend the whole night adjusting my clothes.
